Step 1: Open the Theme Editor
In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Customize
In the top dropdown, select Password
Look for the Timer section in the sidebar
If it’s not there, click Add section > Timer
Step 2: Set the Countdown Time
On the right-hand settings panel under Countdown Timer:
Set your drop date and time
Choose Month, Day, Year, Hour, and Minute
Select AM or PM
Use UTC time
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Convert your local time to UTC so all visitors see the same countdown.
Example: If your launch is at 5PM EST, convert it to 9PM UTC. Use Google:
5PM EST to UTC➜9PM UTC
Step 3: Adjust Timer Layout
Under Timer Positioning:
Toggle Center Timer if it’s the only main element on the page
Set Top Timer Margin and Bottom Timer Margin for spacing
Step 4: Style the Timer
Under Countdown Typography:
Adjust font size for countdown numbers and labels (Desktop only)
Under Countdown Styling:
Toggle labels: Days / Hours / Minutes / Seconds
Enable glow or boxes around numbers for visual flair
Set box border radius (Curve Countdown Box Corners)
Adjust transparency with Countdown Box Opacity
Under Countdown Colors:
Change colors for box, numbers, and labels:
Countdown Box Color
Days / Hours / Mins / Secs Text + Label Colors
Step 5: Save and Preview
Click Save 💾 and refresh your live store to test the countdown.
💡 Countdown is great for drops, presales, and new collection hype. Make sure to combine it with your unlock animation for the full effect.
