Footer Settings

For Plain Jane, and Plain Jane Interactive

What You’ll Learn

🔧 Accessing Footer Settings

  1. In your Shopify Admin, go to Online Store > Themes.

  2. Click Customize on your active Plain Jane theme.

  3. Click the Theme Settings icon (paintbrush).

  4. Scroll down and open Footer Settings.

📅 Content & Data

Use this area to customize your email signup form and basic footer messaging.

  • Footer Email Header: Headline text for the email form

  • Email Description Text: Descriptive line encouraging signup

  • Email Placeholder Text: Placeholder inside the email input field

  • Privacy Policy Text: Optional text to indicate data privacy

  • Footer Submit Button Text: Button label (e.g. "Subscribe")

  • Footer Copyright Text: Appears at the bottom of the footer

💡 Tip: Keep the privacy text short and clear to boost trust.

🌐 Layout & Display Options

Toggle visibility of different footer elements:

  • Show Payment Types: Displays accepted payment icons

  • Hide Footer On All Pages: Overrides and hides footer completely

  • Show Footer On Home Page

  • Show Footer On Collection Pages

  • Show Footer Footer Copyright: Toggles the copyright text

  • Show Email Footer Signup: Shows or hides the newsletter form

🎨 Typography Settings

Fine-tune the text appearance:

  • Footer Link Header Size (Desktop): Adjusts heading size for desktop

  • Footer Link Size (Mobile): Controls mobile font sizing

  • Copyright Font Size: Smallest text in the footer, useful for disclaimers

🌈 Color Settings

Fully customize the color palette used in the footer:

  • Background: Main footer background color

  • Email Header / Description / Placeholder Text Color

  • Privacy Text Color

  • Input & Button Colors: Text and background colors for form elements

  • Link Colors:

    • Header Text, Links, Hover Background, Hover Text

  • Copyright Text: Usually lighter or muted for subtlety

🚨 Warning: Always check contrast between text and background for accessibility.
